In order to help eliminate the opportunity gap found in kindergarten readiness, AACPS works to expand access to full-day Pre-Kindergarten programs. During the 2022-2023 school year, AACPS will braid District, Blueprint, and ESSER funding to expand full-day Pre-Kindergarten programming for four-year-old children to 61 locations and create new full-day Pre-Kindergarten programming for three-year-old children at 8. This brings a total of 116 full-day Pre-Kindergarten classrooms in AACPS. Visit the AACPS Early Childhood & School Readiness website for more information. - Certify all Pre-Kindergarten classrooms in the rigorous Maryland EXCELS rating program.
- Secure private partners to expand Pre-Kindergarten opportunities to more Anne Arundel County families.
- Create training partnerships with institutions so that Pre-Kindergarten paraprofessionals have the highest level of credentials.
