The Performing and Visual Arts (PVA) Middle and High School Magnet Programs are designed to provide students who demonstrate artistic ability, interest and potential a curriculum of rigorous training that emphasizes the creative process through collaborative opportunities.
With the challenges associated with the shift to a virtual learning environment this spring, we are aware that some families were not aware that the PVA program’s late auditions were still taking place in the new virtual environment. In an effort to support students and families who were not aware of this year’s late auditions, we are opening on final late application window, effective June 1- June 12 for the following grades and primes:
Rising 6th Grade Students – Dance, Band, Strings, Vocal
Rising 7th Grade Students – Dance, Band, Strings, Vocal
Rising 9th Grade Students – Creative Writing, Dance, Film & New Media, Band, Guitar, Strings, Piano, Theatre (Acting), Theatre (Design & Production), Visual Arts, Vocal
Rising 10th Grade Students – Creative Writing, Dance, Film & New Media, Band, Guitar, Strings, Piano, Theatre (Acting), Theatre (Design & Production), Visual Arts, Vocal
(The additional June audition window is unique to this school year, and will not occur in future years.)
Auditions will be scheduled virtually, and will conclude by June 19. DUE TO THE LATENESS OF THIS AUDITION, AND THE NEED TO GET ACCEPTED STUDENTS REGISTERED AT THEIR NEW SCHOOL PRIOR TO THE ONSET OF SUMMER BRIDGE – ALL SEAT OFFER ACCEPTANCES AND SEAT OFFER REFUSALS MUST BE MADE BY 4 p.m. ON JUNE 22.
PVA Piano Students Perform in PhiladelphiaOn Saturday, September 28, three PVA Piano students performed at the Triumph Music Festival at Philadelphia's famed Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
All three are students of Prime Arts Piano Teacher Dr. Yesung Suh. Two students study with Extended Day Guest Artist Tobias Russell and one studies with Extended Day Guest Artist Joshua Lilly.
Many thanks to Dr. Suh for facilitating this fantastic opportunity for our PVA Piano majors and congratulations to all three students.
PVA Senior InternshipsThe PVA Seniors have been taking advantage of amazing arts-related internship opportunities over the Summer and into the first quarter of this school year.
Just one of those opportunities has been a Guitar Major who has been completing internship experiences in arts management at the Kirov Academy in Washington, D.C.
