Please Note: Beginning April 15, 2024, you will receive email communication that your child has either been selected into a camp, waitlisted, or not accepted. Once notices are sent, parents will have five days to respond to confirm and accept their child's seat in the camp. If the seat is not confirmed, then the child will be moved to the waitlist and the seat will be offered to another waitlisted child. Selection of summer seats are not guaranteed for all students and seats are NOT filled on a first come, first serve basis.

All Summer Dance Programs will be held at Severna Park High School.

Discovering Dance

Discovering Dance is a three-day opportunity for students entering grades 1 – 6 in AACPS to explore the fundamentals of various dance genres. Students will participate in 3 classes per day. 

Class styles may include: Creative Movement, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, African and more! 

The program will focus on instruction and exploration of technique and movement concepts, self-expression through performance, and connection with peers.

There is no performance for Discovering Dance.

No prior dance experience is required.

Attire: Black leggings or black athletic pants, t-shirt that covers midriff, hair tied back off the face (ponytail, braids, or bun). Students will be barefoot.

Cost: There are no fees associated with AACPS summer opportunities this year.

Accepted participants are required to attend one Parent/Guardian Meeting in order to complete reservation

Summer Dance Intensive

Spend some time this summer learning various forms of dance, making new friends, and having a great time! Summer Dance Intensive is a specialized, four-day program which focuses on advancing a dancer's artistic skills with instruction in ballet, modern and jazz technique as well as performance choreography. Our mission is to support well-rounded dancers and individuals.

July 8th - 11th & July 15th - 18th
 Full Day Program
Performance on Thursday at 7:00 PM

Previous dance experience is required. Proper dance attire required.

Cost: There are no fees associated with AACPS summer opportunities this year. Students may request to attend ONE week ONLY. 

Summer Dance Intensive is led by our highly skilled dance educators and focuses on both technique and choreography. Students enrolled in Anne Arundel County Public Schools and entering grades 4-12 in Fall 2024 are eligible to participate.

Accepted participants are required to attend one Placement Class and one Parent/Guardian Meeting in order to complete reservation
