PARTICIPATING NON-PUBLIC SCHOOLS
ESEA, as reauthorized by The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA, 2015), includes twelve major programs that require equitable services be provided to private school students, teachers, and other educational personnel, and, under some programs, to parents. Title I is one program that requires equitable services. These services are provided directly to students and their families and their teachers.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools currently provides services to students at two Non-Public schools in the district. Participating schools' staff plan with AACPS Title I staff to ensure that funds are used according to ESSA Act requirements. A student who attends a participating private school, lives in the boundary of an AACPS Title I school, and is identified by the school as needing additional support in reading and/or mathematics, may be eligible to participate in the private school Title I program.
