Medical
-
The medical plan options that are available to you depend on whether you are under age 65, or 65 or older, or otherwise eligible for Medicare. Medicare A&B is required for participation in the over 65 retiree medical plans (or for those considered Medicare disabled). Please note the service area for the plan you are considering.

Prescription
-
If you are enrolled in one of the AACPS-sponsored medical plan options, your benefits include a comprehensive prescription benefit program through CVS Caremark. SilverScript (a subsidiary of CVS Caremark) administers the Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage for AACPS retirees and dependents eligible for Medicare.
Please note that if you do enroll in a prescription drug plan other than our plan, Medicare will not allow you to join the AACPS group plan. Therefore, your AACPS medical and pharmacy coverage will terminate for you and your enrolled dependents.
Dental and Vision
-
Eligible retirees have access to three dental plan options through two providers. CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and United Concordia Plans provide you with dental coverage for services ranging from routine cleanings and check-ups to orthodontia and dentures.
AACPS provides you with access to vision coverage through two options. The CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Select Vision provides you with routine annual eye exams, as well as reimbursement for glasses, frames and contact lenses. Your medical card will have SV (Select Vision) on the front – make sure you point this out to the provider as proof of your enrollment in that coverage.
If you are enrolled in the BlueChoice HMO or the Triple Option medical plans you also have the core Blue Vision benefit through Davis Vision.
