The Parent Portal is an easy-to-use tool for communicating student progress, including your child’s grades and attendance information.  Each FAMILY has one account that includes all students from that family.  ​

 

​All field trip chaperones must complete a background check, which is valid for two years.  The application is on-line, by clicking on the link above.  Please allow for 3 weeks prior to the field trip to complete the process. 

AACPS now requires that all overnight volunteers/chaperones (such as for the 4th grade field trip to Arlington Echo) and 5th grade drownproofing volunteers complete a fingerprint background check.  Fingerprint-supported background checks must be completed through the Fingerprint Office located at AACPS Central Office on Riva Road.  Contact the Fingerprint Office directly at 410-222-5045 to schedule an appointment.  (During the school year, the office hours are M-F, 7am - 4pm.  Hours vary in the summer.)  The cost of fingerprinting is $63.00 and includes a commercial background check.

Volunteers who complete a Fingerprint Background Check are issued a Fingerprint Verification (blue) Card, which they should have with them while volunteering and a copy of the card is required at the school office.  Thank you for bringing the card to the Folger office so that staff can make a copy and update records in order to ensure chaperone compliance.
