Dear Meade Heights families and friends,

I am honored and privileged to be joining you as the administrator at Meade Heights Elementary this school year. I can’t wait to meet you and partner with you in supporting your children and providing the best learning environment possible.

I come from a military background. My father was career Navy and we lived all over the world. As a teenager, I met my future husband at high school on the island of Guam. We raised our three daughters as an Air Force family and continued to live in amazing locations around the world. We did not settle down until getting stationed at Ft. Meade where my children attended Manor View Elementary, MacArthur Middle, and Meade High Schools.

I am a life-long learner who started in the education field as an active PTA parent. I was encouraged by administration to start substitute teaching at Manor View Elementary. That led to an invitation to become a Teaching Assistant. I served as a TA at Brock Bridge Elementary until I completed my teaching degree and then enjoyed several years teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I was hired as the Science Resource Teacher for the county and trained elementary teachers, wrote curriculum, designed assessments, and coordinated the county science fairs for several years. I joined the STEM office for a year as a teacher specialist before stepping into the assistant principal role at Sunset Elementary. I was most recently the assistant principal at Jacobsville Elementary.

I am looking forward to hearing your stories and building relationships with each of you. Please stop by to say hello at the Sneak-a-Peek event on Thursday, September 2nd. Here are some other important dates for you:
