SAFETY PATROLS (grade 5) (Contact Mrs. Lunsford at clunsford1@aacps.org for more information.)

Safety Patrols are a group of 5th grade students who are leaders and role models in the school and have volunteered to help keep our school safe.  They monitor the hallways, handle the flags and assist younger children during arrival and dismissal times. Patrol Officers are first to arrive and last to leave. This often requires officers to be walkers, car riders or “open door” students because they will be able to be at their stations on time. There is an application to join the team. There are occasionally morning team meetings an hour before school starts.  High standards of both behavior and academics that are vital to the position must be met to be accepted. This is a free program.
