The Office of Civil Rights (OCR) Advisory group was established in 2005 as an outgrowth of a complaint filed by NAACP and community members. The OCR Advisory Group meets monthly to partner with, and advise the Office of Equity and Accelerated Student Achievement to generate ideas, initiatives, and strategies to assist in our effort to Elevate All Students, Eliminate All Gaps.
Early Childhood Coalition
The mission of the Commission is to study and advise the County Executive on matters relating to making school readiness a priority in Anne Arundel County.
The Community Action Agency empowers people in reducing poverty and building resilient communities. Through the work they do, they serve as a recognized leader in addressing poverty and improving the quality of life in the communities of Anne Arundel County. The agency dedicates itself to eliminating poverty in the midst of plenty in this nation by opening to everyone the opportunity for education and training; the opportunity for work; and the opportunity to live in decency and dignity; and with respect for cultural diversity.
PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. This mission is achieved through a system of five values; Collaboration (to broaden and enhance their ability to serve and advocate for all children and families), Commitment (a dedication to children’s educational success, health, and well-being), Diversity (acknowledging the potential of everyone), Respect (valuing the individual contributions of members, employees, volunteers, and partners), Accountability (having a shared responsibility to align their efforts toward the achievement of our association’s strategic initiatives).
Citizen Advisory Committee
The Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) Executive Panel is a structured group appointed by the Board of Education that provides advice to the Board on specific issues impacting educational policy, activities, and programs. The CAC Executive Panel is composed of county residents who represent the diversity of parents and citizens in the county. The CAC studies and reports on educational issues of countywide concern. They also respond to requests from the Board for research and recommendations on specific educational issues.
