Service Learning at Annapolis High School includes 40 hours of curricular integrated action. Your student will engage, plan, act, and reflect specifically through courses noted below to ensure this graduation requirement is completed. For additional school information on Service Learning, please contact Sherri Billheimer at sbillheimer@aacps.org.

    • U.S. Government (Grades 9/11):10 hours
    • Health (Grades 9/10): 10 hours
    • Science (Grade 9): 10 hours
    • English (Grade 11): 10 hours

The Personal Project satisfies the hours of service learning students earn while at Annapolis High beginning with the Class of 2025.

    • Personal Project
      • Mr. Jay Koller (jkoller@aacps.org) and Mrs. Cecilia Miga (mmiga@aacps.org)
        • By completing a Personal Project, students inquire into how their personal interests impact not only themselves but also their community.  Students work on a Personal Project in 9th and 10th grades over the course of 2 semesters, and earn 40 hours based on the process lessons and reflections they complete, in addition to developing a product for their community.
        • Any student who does not complete the Personal Project must complete it as a recovery project during their 11th grade year. They may have to miss other learning opportunities or experiences to complete the project.

In addition to the course implementation of Service Learning and Personal Project noted above, students can further their community response through Service Clubs and Organizations.  At Annapolis High School, this includes:

    1. Key Club
    • Marlene Ramey (mramey@aacps.org) and Carol Ferdock (cferdock@aacps.org)
