Kindergarten Registration

  • Registration must be completed for every child entering Kindergartenª. This includes students who attended Prekindergarten in Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS); therefore, your prompt attention to this matter will ensure that your child is ready to attend school in the fall.  The parent or legal guardian must enroll the child in the school that serves their home address of recordt.

ªBoard of Education Regulation JB-RA states that children who are five (5) years old by September 1 of the school year shall attend school or receive instruction as required by State law and regulations.

t Board of Education Policy JAB states that all students should attend the school serving the attendance area designated for their bona fide residence. Bona fide residence refers to the actual place of residence maintained in good faith. This policy further requires that the parent/legal guardian provide documentation to verify their bona fide address in the school’s service area.
