Arrival/Dismissal Information

  • Parents who are driving students to/from school should follow the above map to help us ensure student safety. The speed limit in the parking lot is 5 mph. Please note, as indicated in the picture above, that the traffic flows one way. If a car is still waiting for his/her student and there is space in front of you, please close the gap so that other cars can enter into the parking lot. Please comply with directions from staff members monitoring the parking lot. Students should NOT walk across the parking lot to your car. Thank you for helping keep our students safe!

    Morning Arrival

School arrival is between 9:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.  Parents dropping off their students must do so in the parking area by the gym, not the bus loop. Students are to line up at the designated door, enter the building and walk to the appropriate location for their grade:

6th grade – enter by the cafeteria and go to homeroom

7th grade - enter by the annex gate and go to homeroom

8th grade – enter by the gym and go to homeroom

Once students are in the building, they may not leave the building unless they are with a staff member or they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. This includes the area outside of the fence near the art annex.

    Late Arrival

Parents dropping off their students must do so in the parking area by the gym, not the bus loop

After 9:15 a.m. students enter through the main entrance and report to tardy table for late pass then report directly to class

Students must have a note from home explaining the reason for the tardiness.

If students come to school without a valid excuse, they will receive an unexcused tardy.

If your bus is late, they must report to the main office for an excused late-bus pass.

    Dismissal

During announcements at the end of 6th period, voices should be at a CHAMPs level 0. Students may not leave the classroom until they are dismissed by their teacher.

    Early Dismissal

Students may not leave school during school hours without permission from a parent or guardian or a staff member in charge.  Early dismissal requests must be in writing for approval by the office (include your name and phone number).  Students should drop off early dismissal notes to the office as soon as they arrive to school and they will receive a pass to leave at the requested time.

At the time of dismissal, the parent/guardian will come to the front office to meet their child and check them out of the building. If the student returns to school before dismissal, the student must report to the office before returning to their class. Parents picking up students for early dismissal are encouraged to arrive before 3:30 pm to avoid disruption to the regular school dismissal.

    Parent Pick-Up

Student safety in our parking lot and driveway is our top priority. Drivers must obey all traffic patterns and may not block or interfere with the loading and unloading of buses. Parents wishing to pick up their child must use the parking area in front of the gym. Do not park or drive in the bus loop or the area directly in front of the school during arrival and dismissal times. Parents picking up students for early dismissal should arrive before 3:30pm to avoid disruption to the regular dismissal.
