South River High STEM
-
STEM at South River High School strives to provide a well-rounded, rigorous and innovative program of choice for the students of Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Project-based learning strategies are integrated into every class from English to Unmanned Aerial Systems. STEM students take on real-world problems through collaborative inquiry and develop perseverance over tough challenges that can have multiple solutions. STEM also gives students opportunities beyond the classroom including job shadows, mentoring with professionals and internships with business partners. These unique experiences in and out of school build a deep intellectual curiosity in STEM students who become more willing to take risks and hear different perspectives. By giving students an expanded worldview STEM hopes to instill a mission of social responsibility in the next generation of changemakers.
