THE WORK OF OUR STRATEGIC PLAN 2018-2023
Tracey's Elementary School
-
When each school began to plan their important work based on AACPS’s 2018-2023 Strategic Plan during the spring of 2018, school teams reflected on their school culture, their community, and the key factors contributing to student achievement. Each school was then asked to consider which Strategic Plan Indicators would have the greatest positive impact for their students. School leadership teams selected indicators and developed plans to focus and guide their efforts. Please come with us on our journey as we describe why, what, and how we do our work to serve our students and families of our school.
Tracey Elementary's School Story
-
Tracey’s Elementary is located in the rural community of Tracy’s Landing. The residents of our community depend on the land for farming and on the water for seafood, trade, and transportation. Our school has been a part of the community since 1962, and we currently serve around 440 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
At Tracey’s Elementary we embody a strong, vibrant educational institution dedicated to instilling a love of learning that empowers all students to be inquisitive, reflective, and academically successful so they can become productive members of the global community. We believe a respectful school climate that promotes life-long learning and positive relationships is essential to the school and the community. As an International Baccalaureate World School for the Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), we provide an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary instructional program. We challenge and encourage our students to be active participants in their learning. Students are provided with opportunities to collaborate and explore, reflect on their learning, and take action.
