THE WORK OF OUR STRATEGIC PLAN 2018-2023

Northeast Middle School

  • When each school began to plan their important work based on AACPS’s 2018-2023 Strategic Plan during the spring of 2018, school teams reflected on their school culture, their community, and the key factors contributing to student achievement.  Each school was then asked to consider which Strategic Plan Indicators would have the greatest positive impact for their students. School leadership teams selected indicators and developed plans to focus and guide their efforts.  Please come with us on our journey as we describe why, what, and how we do our work to serve our students and families of our school.

Northeast Middle's School Story

  • Established in 1949 and nestled in the Green Haven Community, Northeast Middle School, has remained a central educational facility serving generations of Pasadena families in preparing students for the world beyond this small Maryland town.  Pasadena is a community of hardworking, family-centered individuals who take pride in traditions passed on to each generation and who remain committed to demonstrating a dedicated focus to doing what they believe is best for their families. Once a rich farming and fishing region, Pasadena has evolved into an economically diverse community whose neighborhoods thrive on celebrations and traditions, including annual carnivals, holiday parades, athletics, and honoring the Chesapeake watershed and its rich benefits of watersports, crabbing, and fishing.

In a school of almost 880 students, a consistent demonstration of the value of education is evidenced in the attendance of our students who have maintained almost 94% for the last three academic years.  The sense of family, care, and supportive relationships they experience with our teachers and staff provide a safe and engaging educational environment for students to identify their personal goals. Notably, as the surrounding community grows in diversity, so too does the reflection of our student population.  Northeast Middle School is invested in supporting our present student population by providing engaging learning experiences that cultivate a community of future-driven, motivated scholars who are empowered to think critically and embrace diversity in a school environment that develops the capacity of each and every student to be successful.

Positive relationships with students are a cornerstone of our daily practice at Northeast Middle School.  Students are most successful when they feel valued and can embrace discovery through learning experiences both inside and beyond the classroom walls.  It is the mission of Northeast Middle School to cultivate a life-long love of learning amongst our students and to provide them with an opportunity to be focused on their future goals that will allow them to contribute to the world beyond our doors.  Giving back in service to the community, generating a sense of pride in the community, and recognizing that they are the change makers of both their individual and collective future is the motivation for the daily commitment to see that every child can become a George Fox Middle School scholar.
