Strategic Plan Indicators

  • After each school leadership team reflected on its school culture, community, and the key contributing factors to student growth, they used this information to select the Strategic Plan Indicators that would have the greatest positive impact for their students.  Each school was directed to select two to six indicators on which to focus during the 2018-19 school year.  Certainly, we all know that if we focus narrowly and deeply, we are more likely to realize positive results.  The indicators that this school’s leadership team selected are noted below.

  • Strategic Plan Indicator(s) Chosen by the School - 6, 11 (expand to view details)

Indicator 6. INCREASE THE PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS IN GRADES 3-8 WHO MEET OR EXCEED EXPECTATIONS ON STANDARDIZED READING, LANGUAGE ARTS, AND MATHEMATICS ASSESSMENTS

Indicator 11. INCREASE INSTRUCTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPLORE MULTIPLE CULTURAL AND ETHNIC PERSPECTIVES

Strategic Journey

  • Throughout the next 3 years, schools will focus on their chosen Strategic Plan Indicators as the drivers to increase student engagement and achievement within their schools.  They will choose strategies to help them grow or increase within each indicator and will monitor and evaluate the student and school changes that take place along the journey.  Below you will see what this school imagines their students and school to look like in 2021 after having focused and worked on their chosen indicators for three years.

Our Vision of Success: 2021

  • By 2020, it will be routine for our students to be exposed to cultural diversity and to be accepting and interested in cultures from around the world. They will gain an understanding and the ability to empathize with those who are different from them. Teacher will routinely engage in purposeful planning geared towards ensuring continued exposure to diverse cultures.

    ------------------------------------

Students will routinely embrace cultures from around the world and find interest and commonalities with others. They will see cultural arts performances, guest speakers, participate in language clubs, food, art, and musical cultural events.

    -------------------------------------

School staff will quickly recognize and embrace opportunities for teachable moments and exposing students to rich cultural experiences. Parents with diverse backgrounds will be frequent guests at our school as they share their cultural backgrounds.

    ---------------------------------------

A regular part of our climate will have teachers working and planning collaboratively together as they analyze student performance data, identify specific needs, and plan engaging lesson to meet the needs of all learners. Students will value academic achievement and doing their best. School staff will work with students and parents to ensure awareness of academic goals and progress.

    --------------------------------------

Students will be aware of expectations and achievement with specific awareness of academic targets and their individual progress. Student success will be based on the individual needs and abilities of each student. Students increased knowledge of expectations result in them being more equipped to persevere and meet academic challenges.

    ---------------------------------------

School staff will see students confidently engaged in rigorous academic pursuits and self-advocating. Adult stakeholders will see improved scores on county and state assessments with a greater number of students achieving at advanced levels.
