    • Attendance Rates

     Key Challenge #1: Attendance Rate

Overall, high attendance rates are essential for student achievement. At CAT-South, attendance rates affect students’ ability to participate in program curriculum and pass industry certification exams. Students must be present to engage in hands-on industry specific project-based learning, business partner interactions that increase career/internship opportunities, and community-based service learning activities connected to their program pathway. These activities build career-based knowledge and serves to build student resumes, an important factor in employability. (Indicators 8, 10 and 16)

    • Socio-Economic Issues (employment, income levels, housing costs)
    • Businesses/Job Market

    Key Challenge #2:  Businesses/Job Market

CAT-South strives to produce employable students. We must have students prepared to change with shifts in the job market. Students can receive multiple certifications; increasing the number of certifications a student receives will open additional career opportunities to create a multi-skilled employee. Business professionals are community-minded, and service learning prepares our students with the mindset that being a member of industry means giving back. By participating in community-oriented activities, students learn how their skills can serve others. CAT-South is committed to developing the whole student and producing strong citizens.
