Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
-
This framework helps to improve student behaviors and achievement for all students by establishing a consistent approach to managing behavior and encouraging clear, positive behavioral expectations. The goal for a school participating in this approach is to enhance all components of school climate, including engagement, environment, safety, and ultimately learning outcomes for all students.
“PBIS has been a way for me to be creative on reaching my students. The possibilities are endless. As an administrator, it has provided me with strategies to reach my most challenging students but has also provided me ways to reward the positives. It is honestly the backbone of everything I do.” -Chasity Ludd, Assistant Principal, Annapolis Middle School
