The library media program at Notre Dame of Maryland University results in a Master of Arts degree with Maryland State Department of Education certification as a library media specialist. A 21-credit postmaster’s program is also available resulting in MSDE certification as a library media specialist. This is nationally recognized program by the American Library Association (ALA) and the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), and NCATE with a focus on leadership development.
Through a combination of theory and practice, students develop leadership skills to assist them in team building, decision making, problem solving, communicating effectively, and planning and managing change. The program prepares candidates by developing the necessary skills to improve student learning by integrating information literacy, digital technologies and research within the curriculum.
Scheduling options may include a combination of face-to face, hybrid, and online classes. Classes are available at the Baltimore Campus and in Calvert County.Contact: Jeanette Quinn, 410-532-5149, jquinn@ndm.edu
