ANNE ARUNDEL SPECIAL EDUCATION CITIZENS' ADVISORY COMMITTEE (AA-SECAC)
AA-SECAC is a partnership between parents, families, community leaders, advocates, educators and administrators. The committee works to enhance services available to students with disabilities and to advocate for positive changes in special education in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
Active, involved parents and supporters of children receiving special education services comprise the Anne Arundel Special Education Citizens' Advisory Committee (AA-SECAC).

MISSION STATEMENT
To advise Anne Arundel County Public Schools regarding students with disabilities or special needs.

PURPOSE
The purpose of the committee is to:- Work collaboratively with the AACPS Director of Special Education and stakeholders to advise of issues, priorities, goals and potential solutions designed to improve achievement and outcomes of students with disabilities or special needs.
- Facilitate effective communications and collaboration between AACPS, children and youth with special needs, parents, advocates, and the community.
- Provide information and education to parents, educators, students, professionals, and community members on issues related to special education.
- Promote the acceptance, awareness and inclusion of students with disabilities or special needs in our schools and community.

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! YOUR OPINION MATTERS!
Parents or guardians of children receiving special education and related services were mailed the Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey from the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Special Education/Early Intervention Services during the week of February 12, 2024. Parents are asked to complete the survey and return it in the postage paid envelope by May 24, 2024. The survey may also be completed online. Please use the link below or the QR code to access the survey. Your feedback will help guide efforts to improve special education and related services in your local school system. Your voice can make a real difference for your child and many other children across the state of Maryland.
