The Apex ArtsCreative Writing Program focuses on an exploration into various writing techniques which allow for vast opportunities in self-expression, imaginative investigation, and application of skill. While building the foundation as writers, students will learn to hone their writing skills by studying and creating pieces in various genres including but not limited to creative non-fiction, drama, poetry, fiction, current events, and publication. Students will also focus heavily on the process of their work, learning and growing through their experiences in each project-based assessment. Reflection on the process is integral to developing as an artist, as is an attitude of exploration in various genres the artists may not originally be comfortable with. As a result, students will learn to critique work with a critical lens through a writer’s workshop and learn to advance their skills of publication.
