Strategic Plan Indicators
-
After each school leadership team reflected on its school culture, community, and the key contributing factors to student growth, they used this information to select the Strategic Plan Indicators that would have the greatest positive impact for their students. Each school was directed to select two to six indicators on which to focus during the 2018-19 school year. Certainly, we all know that if we focus narrowly and deeply, we are more likely to realize positive results. The indicators that this school’s leadership team selected are noted below.

Strategic Journey
-
Throughout the next 3 years, schools will focus on their chosen Strategic Plan Indicators as the drivers to increase student engagement and achievement within their schools. They will choose strategies to help them grow or increase within each indicator and will monitor and evaluate the student and school changes that take place along the journey. Below you will see what this school imagines their students and school to look like in 2021 after having focused and worked on their chosen indicators for three years.
Our Vision of Success: 2021
-
Linthicum Elementary staff will continue to implement opportunities to collaborate with school and community partners so that all feel like valuable members of our school community. All stakeholders will feel welcomed, connected and invested in the Linthicum Elementary family. We will continue the implementation of Restorative Practices and build on by having staff trained in the subsequent parts each year. Stories will be shared and relationships built through the daily and intentional Community Circles in classrooms and to allow students the ability to take risks and thrive academically. Linthicum staff will also continue the use of PBIS strategies to build strong and respectful relationships between adults and students, and to provide feedback and incentives to reinforce positive behaviors and accomplishments. (Indicators 1 and 3)
Building a culture of literacy and a love of reading will be visible throughout Linthicum Elementary. Everyone walking through the school will see opportunities to engage in reading. Our goal is for every student to see themselves as readers and to increase student achievement across all content areas. At Linthicum Elementary, staff will strive to increase student achievement by providing explicit and modeled math and reading strategies. Students will be challenged with higher level questions, demonstrating a Growth Mindset and increasing their reading stamina, problem solving and critical thinking skills. We will analyze data from AACPS Quarterly Assessments and PARCC/MCAP assessments to measure progress. Staff will also use formative assessments, such as guided reading data and F&P levels, to inform instructional practices. As a result, staff will see an increase in the number of students reading at or above grade level and the number of students meeting or exceeding expectations on PARCC/MCAP and county assessments.
