STEM MIDDLE SCHOOL - STEM SATURDAYS

7th grade STEM students are required to participate in three STEM Saturdays- one per marking quarter.  There is one additional STEM Saturday offered that is optional for students. On STEM Saturdays, 7th grade students work beyond the classroom walls to problem solve or make real world connections. These Saturdays offer extensions of classroom learning that challenge students to explore STEM areas more deeply through field experiences or the laboratory environment.

STEM Saturday Examples:  The STEM Magnet Program will provide Saturday Specials where students may choose to participate in opportunities from Drone racing, Drone Square Flight Challenge, to collecting environmental science data.

Students line up at Skate Zone to test out friction in roller skates as they push skates along the skating rink floor.     Ten students sitting on each side of a long table work on electromagnetic sensors with a schematic.
